To support secondary education and extra curricular activities among rural students from weaker socio-economic strata and to reduce drop outs.
Geographical Location
8 villages in Dubrajpur Block and 2 villages in Rajnagar Block under Gohaliara, Bakreswar and Tantipara Panchayats spread around 10 square kilometers of Bakreswar Hot Spring in Birbhum District.
Project Overview
4 supportive education centers with 12 teachers provide after school education support, career guidance and co-curricular activities to 110 students belonging to Socio economically backward sections comprising mainly of Scheduled Castes and Tribes and First Generation learners. The project has been running successfully for 4 years and has arrested the dropouts in the villages. The project conducts special teaching workshops, inclusive cultural programs with city students, cultural workshops and vocational guidance to students.
In 2017, a batch of 6 tribal girls have passed Madhyamik examinations, a first in their village
